So after acquiring this 1989 Evinrude 110 and finding out that I cannot swap parts to my 1975 Evinrude 115.
I was told when I got the motor that the rings on cyl # 1 were broken and that the cyl walls were scratched.
Upon careful inspection I can see that there is a new head gasket on the motor, when I pulled all the plugs and turned the motor by hand I heard no
noise from inside, I checked with an inspection lite for any scratches and could see none inside, I put it all back together and went for broke.
She started right away, low speed idle is rough, I am wondering if the cyl wall could affect that or if not running for two years would probably cause that.
