During your electrical connection cleaning, is there any chance that the leads to two of the coils got switched? The engine will run, but will backfire. The leads from the power pack are color coded for the coils on each head. Blue tracer for the top coils, green tracer for the bottom coils.

Well final update had to take it in, turns out the motor sheered the flywheel key which advanced the motor 28 degrees causing my backfire, so now all is well with the motor, thanks for Everyones help hopefully this thread will help another person out with this as well.
