i have a 125 force and im only getting 2600 rpm's out of it but im getting 34 mph with 4 people on board a 20' maxum boat and a 13" x 17" pitch prop.
why is my rpm so low.
my guess is a bad tach and if so where can i get on cheap?

thanx to everyone who will try to help me.

Agreed, that speed w/that prop is about right for WOT. Tach reading is about half recomended.

my 125 force does not even have a tac. its an 89 dis. ign. system. i would not even no how to begin to hook one up un less i reserch it on the interweb. maby tap into my coil pos. lead? i also do not have a temp sensor? just a thermo switch. Guess the enginers not worried adout over heating these engines. well i did. my first boat a 1989 bayliner 125. rebuilt it form gruond up and still working out the flaws.:)
