To be honest This is the first boat I have owned and I did test drive this boat on Lake Michigan and it did very well. I got it home and took it out on my lake and I have no power and VERY low idle. I did do a compression test and they are all at 150. I am thinking that it is a linkage issue because when I put it into gear from the drivers console I have about 4 to 5 inches of movement on the throttle handle before there is any RPM's. I have no idea how to adjust the Neutral idle to make it faster and how to adjust the linkage to have RPM's start sooner on the throttle handle. Please remember that I am a Marine so you have to bust it done barney style for me please. Thanks

Well, first, welcome to the iboats Chrysler/ Force forum.

There should be some movement of the control handle so the engine goes into gear before the throttles start to open. 4-5 inches would be a bit much, but not particularly out of line. If you still want to reduce it though, you go inside the engine cover. There will be a large stainless steel quick-connect. This coupler is threaded on the control cable. IF you thread it out a couple of turns, the center spring-loaded portion will not stick out so far in neutral and the throttles will start to open sooner.

NOW: Since marines can't read big words, watch the video and read the synch (synchronizing. Too big for you? LOL) sticky at the top of the page. Both show how to set up the engine and adjust idle speed.

Ok thanks and that is a huge word. lol

The reason I think that its the cable is because I have no RPM's. Could it be that the cable is not opening it up all the way because of the slack?

What are you talking about a video and a sticky note?

I dont think your video showed how to adjust the throttle cable and I think that this is the trouble that I am having.

The throttle cable also has a groove in it where it sets in the clamp. You must be certain that this groove is properly located and retained by the "dent" in the clamp.
