1989 mariner 90hp 3cyl tilt/trim stuck in down pos.

hey all, just got motor yesterday and installed today, and the tilt/trim is not moving. i can hear the pump, pumping, working whatever, but no movement. its full of oil, red oil i checked.<br /><br />this is my first motor with trim/tilt,so......<br /><br />motor is only 1 inch off ground when on trailer(skeg) and i cant lift it manually, cause the trim wont move. is there a manual overide on these things?<br /><br />how can i get the motor to tilt/lift up so i can at least bring it home, its sitting in a parking lot right now.

There should be a manual relief valve you can get to through a hole on one of the clamp brackets. You'll need a big screwdriver. Find some help, cuz it moves up REAL slow. But let it go for a second and it drops real fast.<br /><br />If you hear the pump motor running, you probably have a stuck valve inside, but make sure that manual relief is closed. If it's a stuck valve, you'll need to take the unit off and get an 0-ring kit for it. Do all the valves...one at a time. Wear old clothes, you'll get squirted.
