OK, sounds good. I can't believe a narrow little 6 inch strip of plywood is all that originally supported the bottom of the tank?? I redid the board like it was, but it just doesn't seem sufficient to me.

Well, the foam is all in, floors are down, just looking at seating options right now. Has anyone ever gone the route of NOT putting the boxes back in under the seats and just going with pedestal mounts? I'll slap some progress pics up as well.

The only draw back to just a pedestal is loosing some storage space. I did a blend of the 2 with lower seat boxes and a pedestal on it. It's nice having the boxes to keep lines and fenders in. The upper end of the seat boxes are another place to pack in foam too. The little rear facing jump seats are mounted on the hatch that opens backwards.

Here's a few shots of some of the progress. Getting there, slowly.

I ended up going with Overton's Tuff Coat on top of the spar varnished 3/4 marine ply. It feels very tough, and feels great. Removed the passenger side box, just because without one of the boxes, it really seems to open up the laneway up the middle.

Yeah I really do like that tuff coat type non skid deck coating, it looks nice and would be real easy to repair of damaged. I also like the idea of the cost of using that sort of material. I may go that route on my SS.

Thanks guys. Took her out for the first splash. Turned out much better than I thought. I'm sitting about 6" higher in the water, my boat is now level from bow to stern instead of heavy in the rear. My bow doesn't hop much in a chop, and it rides beautiful, and that's with two extra riggers and a second battery added to the stern. I gained about 5-6mph top end, and it jumps out of the hole. The best part, she doesn't leak a drop. All in all, very happy I tackled the job.

After doing this work, I now see how these boats are supposed to ride and feel. 100% improvement. I'll get some pics up shortly.

Wow... bare hull to splash in 2 months. Congratulations on your effort and the "new" boat. I like hearing about the performance increase a refurbished hull can show.
