I own a 33' 1990 wellcraft st. tropez with twin 350 cid, 260hp inboards. It has counter rotating 4 blade 16x16 props on it. the trouble is it only reaches about 3800rpm wot. reccommended wot is 4400-4600. top speed is about 29mph. what do I need to do to get my wot into the proper range.

I have to ask a few questions: How long have you owned the boat? Since you have owned the boat has it ever hit the target rpm range ? Are both engines hitting the same top rpm ? If it has always been this way, perhaps it's time to change the pitch of the props. If this is a new situation it could be engine related. Need a little more info to go on.

I've owned the boat for a few years now and it has always run at the same wide open trottle. Both engines reach the same WOT. As the props are 4 blade what pitch changes do you suggest

If you go to Michigan Wheel's web site you can input your boat specifics and they will e-mail you the recommended diameter and pitch. Unfortunately, it takes a couple of weeks to get the answer. If you have a good propellor shop in your area, they will be able to give you a good number too.

I assume the boat bottom is clean and the props aren't damaged. It seems to me the 16 x 16's are about right for your boat. The St. Tropaz weighs what about 10,000 pounds with an 11 foot beam? Are the secondaries opening up? 3800 is very close to the rpm range that they should be.
