I know I get a told you so but i post it anyways.
the wood soacked all the resin up even after I wetted it out. So I ground it off and applied resin on all wood. I will let it dry and tomorrow start fresh with the glass. Thankfully I cut them twice as big as I would need so no harm done. Other than my pride. Its good that this came out now and not later almost done.

Hahahahhahaha. Yep we all learn from our mistakes at least once in our lives. When I started working on boats I had no idea what would be best and mostly SAFE for me and my family. That’s when I came across iboats :) If I questioned myself even the littlest, I asked for advice here and I went with it. So far everyone on here has never steered me in the wrong direction. All you guys have been there and done that before. A great community to hang with. Thanks everyone !

Chris, remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. Ask as many as you like. You have a great boat that your working on and it will last a long time, don’t cut
corners. At first I wanted to rush rush rush so I could see a finished project. Not anymore. I know it will get done eventually 👍🏼 Looking forward to seeing the deck back on yer boat. It’s a great feeling to walk on something strong again.

Starting new. I cleaned the area with acetone. Then I soacked the 1708 in resin. Applied some on the stringers and set it in place. Its not the prettiest but it should adhere good now. I will run longer strips all the way up to the top to join the bulkheads and stringers together.
anybody elses eyes start burning when the resin kicks. I don't smell anything but my eyes tear up.

Yea I always had a fan in a window sucking fumes out but I know when I did the transom I have a overhang and any time spent under there and the eyes burned.

I knew that would come from either you dezmond or kcassells

I get about 95-98% bubbles out. Some are just too stubborn.

Also got a 1x3/8 neoprene strip for the tank today.
New hoses came a couple days ago.

Nice work. We all get bubbles. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than what you started with from the factory. Some guys will say they grind them out and fill them, I never worry about it. Unless they are fairly large like dime size (Canadian Dime That Is ;) ) then I would do something. Your call though. Others will chime in on advice I am sure.

Thanks dezmond. Yeah, grinding them out makes more of a mess. The corner pieces I did grind out since they did not adhere well in the fillet areas. I applied some csm in the corners and I will lay over one more tabbing of 1708.
So the inner side where the motor mounts are have two layers now. One step at the time. I think menards will have their 11% sale again and I will get the plywood for the deck. I'm not sure if I should go with the 5/8 BCX vs the 1/2 BCX. I will finish the top with two layers of csm and 6oz woven for a nice finish. Then fare it and gelcoat the deck. I think 1/2 should be fine. The tank area and the locker have about a 2 foot span. I will add braces across for stiffness. Originally they made the tank and ski locker removable. Mine will be one piece as the deck.

I went 3/4 but think you have more stringers than me and less span. Also only used ACX, I bought a sheet of BCX and ended up walking back in and returning it.

I didn't sweat those small bubbles, some seem like it was glass that just would not adhere. Especially the cut ends where the csm backing frayed.

Thunkin on it semmore. Irecalled that was what came out. What thickness did you rip up? BCX is Fine! Can't find any acx and I'm not paying for marine ply. Dat's fo sure! Once it sealed and glassed properly...just turn off the lights!

Thats just it. Its a smidge over .5 but still under 5/8. I assume the wood expanded and it is also hard to measure with the glass layers on it. With the amount of glass I will add, im sure 1/2 will suffice.

I broke down and got me 5/8 BCX plywood with firing strips. What is the best way to seal the stainless screws. Will pl glue work? I have a tube of 3m 4000uv but I don't think is needed. Glue on the sealed cleats, predrill the wood and apply glue in the holes. Then screw them in and seal on the outside with pl and apply a bit of resin on top?
