Hey Guys....

This has the Thunderbolt IV distributor, I just got a new ignition module I just want to make sure I have it all hooked up correctly.
This is what I've got:

FROM IGNITION MODULE
WH/R --> WH/R Distributor Sensor
WH/G --> WH/G Distributor Sensor
Purple --> (+) Coil
Grey --> (-) Coil

FROM ENGINE HARNESS
PURPLE/Y (+) Coil
GREY (-) Coil
Wh/Green --> (-) Coil......? I'm assuming that this is the lead that runs over to the shift interrupt switch.

I should mention maybe also that the ignition module is mounted over on the manifold vs the distributor, maybe that's whats throwing me off as well. The distributor and module ground are both grounded to the manifold.

You really mean that you are replacing the "sensor" under the cap, right?
Or are you installing an "ignition amplifier" that was stolen because the harnesses are NLA without the AMP?

I am replacing the distributor because the one that was in it when I got the boat was not the right one (it was a points distributor pulled from a older 3.8L or so says the part#). I don't know if the boat ever ran with the points distributor or not, I'm utilizing the "start from scratch" method. I"m unsure about whats available and whats not concerning the harness, but I believe the parts and harness to be the correct one for this application,although I am willing to be wrong.

Let me try restating the question hopefully with better terminology. I'm installing a new thunderbolt IV distributor in a system that was meant to have one but didn't for unknown reasons. I have the sensor installed inside the distributor and connected to the ignition amplifier via the wh/g & wh/r wires. I have the ignition amp connected to the coil via the purple & grey wires. The engine harness has an existing wh/g wire that previously went to coil (-) that I believe comes from the shift cutout switch? I'm just not sure where this wh/grn from the harness should tie in exactly or if it even matters.

The coil studs can't handle 3 wires, just not long enough. So, connect the 2 green/wh wires together & plug them in with the grn/wh wire from the sensor (male push-on connector) .
