How much oil goes in the gear case?

Little less than a quart. Fill from the bottom.

I drained the oil and it didn't look like the milky white stuff I saw from vids on you tube, however some pure water dripped out again first, I was gonna run in the lake tomorrow then redrain and take a looksie. The fill plug has rubber o ring it looks a little worn, could this be the cause of water, by some sort of vacuum happening in the gear case
