The gas is coming out of the front of the carb. You cant really tell which orifice it is coming out of in there while its running. Is there a trick to setting the needle and seats? Like i said it stops the air flow when you turn it upside down and blow into it.

For anyone who is curious the new gaskets that came in the rebuild kit had dissolved inside the carburetors. Looked like they had been dipped in acid. I had to take all three off again clean again and put the old gaskets back on. Anyone ever had that happen? They had only been on there for two days. The boat will start now on about every turn but will run for about 30 or 45 seconds and will die. I can hit the choke and save it a few times but it eventually dies. If i try to back off the throttle it dies as well. Any ideas on this?

Ive been messing with the motor and ive noticed that when it starts to die i can bumb the choke and that will save it but i have to keep doing this about every five or six seconds and that is with the throttle lever up. The more I drop down that lever the harder it is to keep it running. Any suggestions? Does this sound like I have set the floats wrong?

Sounds like you have some of those dissolved gasket parts stuck some where in the carb passages. Where did you get these rebuild kits from and what brand ??

Sierra and ordered them from amazon... the seller was rec-direct. The gaskets were falling apart. After all the troubles I have had that was like a kick to the groin. Ive taken those carbs off at least 10 times the last couple of days.

Were these gaskets paper or rubber type. I never use Sierra.

they were rubber... the gaskets for the bowl looked like the bowl cut right thru them when i tightened them down and small gasket for the needle just dissolved. the middle of them was completely gone. I cleaned the carbs out pretty well after that and reset the floats to the correct drop level and made sure they were level when carb is upside down. ive been a little under the weather the last few days so i have not been able to see if that fixed the problem.

Well I figured out my problem and unfortunately its not a carb problem. The compression on the three cylinders are 95 70 and 85. According to the guy at the shop it is probably going to have to be rebuilt. On the bright side I guess it means I might have done a good job on the carb clean and rebuild.
