1990 bayliner capri 1800 gas tank

what is this gas tank made of in these boats i was curious how often we should open these up and clean them or do we have to clean them at all is it a good idea to go to a plastic gas tank just curious i also had them put in inline filter on it is in the shop getting checked out and ready thanks for all your comments ahead of time

Either steel or aluminum..no need to clean it out unless ya got a gas problem. Plus I don't know how you would "clean" a built in tank anyway.
Just run the filter...
