I have a 1990 Yamaha 40HP 3cyl. outboard motor with 2 scarred cylinders. They are not scarred to badly, but I do not have any compression on the 3rd cylinder. I have been told that I will have to get them bored out and put new rings and oversized pistons in. Is there any other way around this? I have been considering either replacing the powerhead with a used one, if the price is right, or just selling the boat and walking away. Please help if you have any advice. Thank You!
