This motor is a manual start, converting to Electric start. The charge/lighting coil on this one has three wires, Red,Yellow and Red with Yellow tracer. The
Red and Yellow go to the Rectifier but I cannot see on the schematics where the Red with Yellow tracer goes. Need help guys.
Thanks.

Re: 1991 DT25 Stator coil.

Thank you deejaycee for the wire chart. Unfortunately it is not clear. The coil on the motor has three wires,Red, Yellow and yellow with red tracer ,or vise versa. The donor motor from which I took the starter motor and rectifier etc has a stator coil with only the Red and the Yellow wires, no yellow with red tracer. I have connected the red and yellow wires to the rectifier and hope that that is good. Will check to see if I get a good voltage at the battery ie 13+ volts with the motor running. Could it be that the yellow with red tracer has been provided as a tacho drive?
A special thank you as you are the only one to respond.

Hey James

Yes the extra wire (yellow only) is for a tach, the yellow & red wire is for battery charge ..... strange that the donor part only has 2 wires, is it possible that the wire broke off ? or is it clear that there is 2 wires only?

Otherwise just connect the yellow/red to the yellow of the donor part ....

Re: 1991 DT25 Stator coil.

Deejaycee. Thanks for the confirmation on the yellow/red.
I note from the Seloc that there are two types of coils, one with and one without. None of the schematics show the yellow/red. The donor motor coil does have only two wires. Maybe you can help further with my posting on the oiling system. All of the Suzukis that have passed my way have all tested good for oiling but I suspect this one was allowed to run with no oil feed and the pump got damaged. Rather than remove the power head to pull the pump drive I think I will let it run on 50:1 and leave the oilsystem in place with oil in the tank to lube the pump.
Thanks a bunch.
