Hey guys I just toasted my 91 120. Cylinder 3 piston is done and major scoring on the cylinder walls. Cylinder 4 also has some light scoring but hasnt affected the compression. IMAG0426.jpgIMAG0430.jpg

Im thinkning a good used block may be the cheapest alternative to boring or re-sleeving. Where is the best place to pick up a good used block? I have been checking fleabay but there isnt anything available right now other than a 96 powerhead locally, but that one has the mercury spline on the crankshaft.

Rebore and 2 new oversize pistons, gaskets about 350.
Depending on getting it bored out. Some areas don't seem to have a shop willing to do that.Where are you?Profile?
No re-sleeve would cost more than a new block.
Craigslist,e-bay and word of mouth.
Salvage yards want too much.
Sometimes it cheaper to get a used motor.
I bought one for $200.

I'm not sure how deep the scoring is yet but I'm doubtful that .030 will clean it up.

.030 is pretty bad.If both need a rebore to .020 and .030 You might need to re-jet too.Good luck.
