Hey Everyone,

I'm new to iboats so bare with me. I purchased a 91 Four Winns 170 Freedom this past june and am loving it. The boat has some floor rot along the edge of the ski locker which i am looking to do an entire floor restoration this winter. My first two questions are how do i remove the passenger side lounge seat and how do i remove both the starboard and port side compartments?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to iBoats!

I'm not removing any of my clothing to "Bare" with you!!!! You should hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Four Winns are very well constructed boats but... Having said that most boats with soft decks usually have stinger and bulkhead issues too. Is this an I/O configuration or and Outboard? It really helps if you post pics of the boat so we can see what you're working on. Get a free Photobucket account and upload your pics to it, then use the IMG Code to copy and paste the pics to iBoats.

Get those pics posted and you'll get all the help you can handle!!!

Welcome to the iboats dry dock, post up some pix.

Are the seats back to back convertible loungers? Boxes may be screwed/bolted directly to the deck (floor) or glassed in place. Hard to say. If the bases are wrapped in carpet, even harder to tell if the carpet was installed after the bases were attached to the deck............

The boat is an I/O with a 2.3l OMC Cobra.

The seat i'm unsure about how to remove is a back to back convertible lounger. it appears as though the carpet was installed before the base was attached which would lead me to believe that it is not glassed to the floor. Below is a picture of what i'm working with (Ignore the rope that's draped across the boat).

Some how when you change that back to back into a lounger, you should have access to some of the seat hardware, allowing you to remove the seat parts from the base. Or give you access to to however they are attached to the deck.

Which bolsters were you trying to remove when you asked over in the inactive thread?

That's very helpful regarding the seat. I'm also trying to remove the wood compartments along the sides of the boat as to open access to the entire floor.
