1991 seadooxp 580 questions

i bought one of these with the engine out, and a replacement engine

they had taken out the gear pump and valve, so I need the timing on it. I am very familiar with snowmobile engines, i just want to make sure this is the same.

Its always interesting to try and put something back together that you didn't take apart, ive never worked on a seadoo, but very competent with dealing with repairs n such

also, if anyone has a pdf of the service manual, please link me?

All the information you need to time the rotary valve is on sbt.com in the forums section and installation guide. Some are at 147 degrees, some more, some less, but the info you require is right here: http://www.shopsbt.com/forum/t13982/

Looks like you should time your rotary valve BTDC +5 degrees= 115 degrees.

Remember to grease the drive shaft.
