i need some advice from anyone who can help. i have a 1992 70hp force motor. well a few weeks ago my motor died on the lake, and i had to get towed in. after i braught the boat home, i started tracking step by step what the problem could be. first i started with spark. i found that i wasnt getting an even spark throughout each plug. i noticed that the third coil was completely dead. so i replaced the third coil, and tried agian. i noticed that all were sparking, but not consistantly. i took the flywhell off, and noticed one magnet broken. i baught a new flywheel, and assembled it. today i assembled it and tried to start, but i was getting no spark what so ever. i went back and started testing all my fuses, and lines. i noticed this. i am getting power from my rectifier down. the power goes through the yellow wires, and the yellow wires are going to the stator, which is telling me the startor is getting power. i am not geting power from the blue, red wires that feed down from the stator. it looks as if the blue, red which go to the switchbox then powers the three coils. so it seems as if i am loosing power somehow back or somewere. does anyone know what the problem could be? i am thinking the stator is the problem, but how could it have gone bad so fast. i didnt do anything to the stator to my knoledge for it to just die like that. does anyone have any ideas? thanks a bunch
