1992 force 120hp L drive on a 19.5 Bayliner. very low power, only about 5 mph on water.
I ran a compression test very happy to find 150psi on all 4. Top two spark plugs dirty, bottom two clean. No spark on the lower two cylinders. ( Original electronics had been replaced with CDI, before I bought it) Did a Ohm test on stator and it was 590. Seems a bit high. Switched the two blue wires no change still no spark on bottom two. Swapped the two yellow, still no spark. Removed all wires one screw at a time and cleaned and replaced, no change. Changed the order of the green wires and now have spark on lower two and no spark on upper two.
So I believe the Switch box is bad? Is there a test I can perform on the switch box?
Also my tach is not working not sure what is up with that and if it is part of the over all problem, all wires are connected.
This is my first time working on an out board motor ( lots of experience on a ford 302 but none on a outboard)
Thanks for any direction
