Hi all....I just stumbled across one of these at a local shop...I am thinking of trading my 1989 Force 85 hp in on it (plus some cash)..but I can't find any info on the motor at all. My opinion of the Force is that I'm happy to be rid of it........what can I expect from the Johnson and what makes it a TRACKER and what is PRO SERIES...sorry for the dumb questions but I goitta know....oh its a V4 with VRO...the dealer is rebuildiung it this winter and I will get it with a 1 yr warranty....thanks...

Way back when, OMC was the supplier of engines for Tracker Boats.....sold from Bass Pro Shops. Other than having the "Tracker" monicker stamped on it, it's a 90hp engine from OMC.

You'll see a huge difference in performance from the Force. The block is a proven block and has been around for years. The engine will crank 6grand and breath nicely. After breakin, get some help in setting the engine up on the boat for best performance and for choosing the right prop for your rig.

Thanks for the reply..I was hoping for a few things from this motor #1 is reliability, I was unable to take the Force onto Lake of the Woods cause I was never sure I would get back, #2 a bit more top end (I currently get to 38 mph (GPS) with a16 ft Aluminum Princecraft) any idea if I can break 40???, # 3. BETTER fuel economy at cruise...the Force was HORRIBLE from idle to full throttle #4..trolling....bould never troll with the Force it would burp and die after 30 seconds or so...:)devil:)....Tim

Just wondering if any of my "wishful thinking" ie; better economy at part throttle, as an example are gonna happen with this new motor? Will I be able to troll with it or is it too big a motor for trolling? Thanks.
