I recently purchased a 1992 Robalo with twin 150HP Mercury Outboards. I think I need to replace the impeller on one of the motors for I am receiving a warning horn which in my research indicates that the motor is overheating although at least at idle speeds I do still have a tell-tale. I do not have a trailer but do have access to a boat lift which will allow me to back the boat up and place the motors over the pier. Being a novice boat owner with some mechanical inclinations, is this something that I can replace myself with use of a repair manual or should I spend the $250-$275 and let a marina replace it? If so, what repair manual would someone recommend? Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to provide.

With a manual it is not too hard.
Get the manual and do work in good order, making notice of parts' places.

Your tell take should be strong at all times. It may be better to do both impellers' as you have it out of the water. Saves one travel on the lift and you'll know that both are OK - and on same timeline for future services.
