Guys I'm officially stumped.

Heres the specifics...

1993 e120txetf Evinrude 120hp on a 18 whaler.

New:
Fuel tank
Fuel lines
Primer ball
Water sep/ff
Carbs rebuilt 2x
Power Pack
Stator
Plugs / wires

Timing verified,
Still cannot get this engine to idle...

Seems to be an intermittent issue as I ran it yesterday just fine and now today she's back to her old self, can't even get her to run down the canal out to the bay...

Anyone with suggestions?

Also wanted to add there is no antisyphon, and can't state enough how well she ran yesterday....

Today, I spun off the ff/water separator and It was only half full, I verified the pickup tube was clear, no leaks in any fittings...

Took carbs apart today, all is spot on...

Looked at reeds they look and feel perfect.

Fuel is new

Tried external tank, same sh*t..

its in the carbs!! those carbs have jets- did you take them out? all jets? might be some air bleeds also?? if you didnt soak them in a carb solution - a while- likely didnt?? id do that - the jets are usually brass & i have seen them stop up & turn green with corosion! will have low speed & high speed jets and maybe some air bleeds. dont get them mixed up!

Thanks for the reply... Orifices fully removed and cleaned, verified proper placement #30 and #37... You could eat off the carbs, full rebuild kits installed in each....

Yep, my past omc 140 would sneeze, idle poorly and stall at idle from first day off the showroom floor. The dealer couldn't figure it out but one of my pro boat mechanic friends did. The thermostat was missing. So my advice is check the thermostat.

Ouch seal rings, haven't looked there at all... I'm out on the boat right now and shockingly and as she likes to do every once in a while it runs mint... And I mean mint without a hiccup... When I put the boat away tonight and come back tomorrow she will run like ****... Still only getting a max 12.6v at the battery...

Pull the cover off the front of the carbs and while it's sneezing and running poorly, one at a time put your hand over each carb intake. If it's carb related, and a lean sneeze normally is, it should start to run better when you cover the problem carb. At least this will tell you where to look.
