1993 evenrude 8hp

Hey guys,
I am going to look at a 1993 evenrude 8. I am picking this up for a kicker and was wondering if anyone has an opinion that motor. Anything I should look for

Great motor, I have a 1998 8hp Evinrude. It is reasonable weight to lift on/off transom, my 9.9 is a bit heavier. Kind of at the breaking point for my aging back. Read LeeRoy's Ramblings for pluses and minuses of the 8hp. Biggest minusbis you can't flush with muffs. Must use tank or hard to find flush fitting.

Wonderful motors really smooth running, easy starting. Do normal maint on it and it will last a lifetime. Put a new waterpump in it and change the gear lube.

Cool, thanks. Motor was really clean and ran like a top. May have over paid a little at $500 but came with 2 tanks. Well maintained
