I just recently purchased a 1993 seaswirl spyder, it has an OMC cobra 5.0 EFI engine. I have just taken it out week ago and it ran great with no problems. I have now taken it out 2 times, the second time I took it out I couldn't get it to accelerate past 1800 RPMS, as soon as it hit 1800, it would jerk back, and rev back up to 1800 and jerk back again. I'm in the process of replacing the fuel filter, I'm also trying to change the spark plugs, but the exhaust manifold seems to be in the way, any tips on replacing the plugs without taking off the exhaust manifold?

You just need to buy a spark plug socket and grind it down on a bench grinder so it will fit.

Ok, so I purchased a 5/8th spark plug socket with a swivel and it worked. so I have now replaced all my spark plugs and replaced the fuel filter. It still cuts out at 1800 RPMS. what I have noticed now is, my oil idles around 40, when I reach 1800 my oil pressure on my gauge reaches up to 60, not sure if its normal, but at 1800 it still cuts out and I almost here like a hissing noise or some sort of pressure relief, not sure if my engine has that. Any other thing I can change? im thinking about replacing my distributor cap next, and maybe my plugs. im pretty sure its not an electrical issue. I talk to a buddy and he thinks it can be one of the injectors.

Ok, I found the solution to my problem. , my friend was looking at the boat last week and he found a wire disconnected. He then connected the wire without telling me cause the engine to go into safe mode. It looks like the wire contexts to an oil pressure sensor of some sort, it's connected right to the oil filter. He came over disconnected the wire again and the engine rev'd up great.
