Re: 1993 Tilt Trim Seals
One more followup on tilt cylinders - my tilt end-cap span holes are stripped and I thought I'd just get a new end cap when replacing the rings and seals... "no way, not sold separately, no part number, must buy entire subassembly for $400" says Yamaha.
However, I found what may be a replacement end cap from another model - anyone tried this? The replacement part is 61A-43811-00-00 and is used on various models including the 2002 LF225TXRA and 2005 LF250TXRD (my engine is a 1998 S225TXRW). Is there any way to tell if this is a valid part for my engine without buying it and trying to put it on? Advise appreciated.
Many thanks,
Pete
