I have not rebuilt one of these before and am surprised that after carefully rebuilding, boring 30 over on the port bank and light honing and new rings on the stbd I have only 100 on the port and 107 on the stbd. Motor runs well but doesn't like the extra oil.
Compared compressions to another identical motor with known score marks on the stbd bores and that gives a reading of 105 on all three bores. The port bores are very bad on this one.
Should I expect higher compressions on the rebuilt motor or are the compressions acceptable.
I trust my gauge by the way.
