1994 200hp No 6 scored cyl-no comp

Does a scored cyl with no compresion mean time for new powerhead? Motor is fully operational otherwise. time for complete rebuild??

How bad is the cylinder? How do the rest look ? If the other ones are in good shape you can just repair #6 bore it and install a new piston worst case a new sleeve . have you already pulled the head?

prolinews,<br />as it stands now this is a frineds motor that i may take on and try to repair. I am trying to get a feel of what i may be getting into. He used the motor last year and didnt even know no 6 was bum until he laid it up for the winter. It sounds like just the no6 cly may be able to be repaired?

Pull the head and take looksee..... If it is zero compression, you are looking at major job, as it will need to be torn down and repaired. If one is going that far, a full rebuild is the best choice....<br />It all depends how bad that cylinder is...

Bush,<br />other cyl are @ or very close too 140 psi.
