1994 225 Oceanrunner - 25 or 30" Shaft????

On a new to me boat/motor, I was told by 'knowledgeable' people that it was a 25" shaft motor. I replaced the water pump and noticed that the shaft was long. I measured it....And it was very close to 30". So a dumb *** question would be, "I have a 30" motor, don't I??" The serial number is G03320575...It is on a 1994 Hydra Sports 23' Vector.<br /><br />Thanks

Yep, Gary.<br /><br />I think the "Z" in the model number means "Xtra-Xtra-long" (30") shaft.<br /><br />If it was a 25" shaft that would be an "X".<br /><br />If I am wrong, DHadley will correct me.

Thanks Guys ! Do you guys feel like the 30" motor is the correct length for the boat? I have only run offshore a few times and it appears to run well in a chop, etc.....Is it common to see a 30" motor on a deep vee 23' boat like my Hydra Sports Vector? It has the 9'6" beam if that matters.
