88 hp 1994 evinrude keeps losing it's prime...<br />have replaced the bubble, didn't help..

sorry about double post...hit wrong button...<br /><br />bulb goes soft while running...engine loses power..

Check for obstructions in the fuel system, from the tank to the bulb. Check for a plugged fuel tank vent; or a bad anti-siphon valve. If you have a portable gas tank available, try it that way and see if you have the problem.<br /><br />The bulb itself could have a bad check valve in it, if you haven't already tried replacing it.

Soft or collapses?<br /><br />Collapsing means a fuel restriction. Vent, pick up (anti siphon valve), collapsed line.<br /><br />Primer bulbs do not usually remain rock hard ,just firm.<br /><br />Does the engine run OK?
