I believe I'm having a problem with my charging circuit in my 1994 Johnson 88 HP Outboard (J88MSLERD)
. Last year, my rectifier burned up. I purchased a new regulator/rectifier and a new stator but want to make sure it isn't something else causing the problem before I burn up the new parts.
Is there a way to test the charging circuit output of the stator? If so, what voltage would I be looking to see?
Same thing with the regulator/rectifier.. What voltages should I expect?
Where should my test leads be positioned to make these tests?
Thanks in advance.
