Some of you may remember that I purchased this boat for 1000 dollars from a local dealer.

This boat looked great on the outside and pretty good on the inside. I knew when I bought the boat that it had a soft spot on the port side around the ski locker because it had been sitting for a few years with the bow down. Once I got the interior and carpet pulled up the damage was pretty bad. The floor was rotten and soft under both foot rests and clear up the bow. The stringers were solid along with the floor aft of the ski locker. I decided that I would do a partial floor replacement.

I don?t have allot of pics of the damage because I was working on this outside in the dark after work during the cold winter months but you can see from the pics of the new wood where the damage was located.

I ended up using epoxy instead of fiberglass resin because I needed to keep the smell down as to not offend any of my neighbors. I got real lucky and bought everything I needed from a guy I work with who bought it all to do a resto of his own and ended up selling his boat. He had everything I needed, 5 gallons of epoxy,15yds of CSM and 20 yds of roven. I still have about 3.5 gallons of epoxy left and only used 10 yards each of the other stuff.

Please remember I AM NO CARPENTER. And I have never done this before. I started by reading many, many posts on this forum and just went for it.

Along with the floor repair I also rebuilt a new engine for the boat over the winter. I pulled the old engine out because I snapped a sparkplug off in the head and when I inspected the engine it was cracked and corroded pretty bad. It still ran great but I didnt want to worry about it.

Here are a couple of pics of the engine install.

First had to clean the bilge area.

You can see I had to let the air out of the tires to lower the boat down enough for the engine to clear.

She is ready for the water now but I ordered new carpet and want to get it installed before I take her out. I will post the finished pics when that happens...
