Pulled my Sport Jet 90 from my 1994 Sea Rayder in order to do some work. It's ready to go back in, but I have some potential issues:
A couple manuals I've found online mention some sort of o-ring (one manual called it a "slinger") that should go between the motor and the jet pump. I didn't identify any such o-ring during disassembly. It either disintegrated over the past 20 years, or it was never there to begin with.
What's interesting is that I've found what appear to be a few different manuals for this motor, and they conflict about what should be installed there.
Since I want to avoid future problems, I'm hoping somebody can offer some advice about what SHOULD be down there for my application.
I've included a couple of photos; one of the bottom of the motor, and one of the top of the jet drive.
