I am wondering if someone could tell me what kind of engine and the specs of same. I have this serial number (OL610290) but haven't found any other infomation about the motor. I was told that this is not the engine that came in the boat, Also I have an oil leak (I think one of the seal is leaking). I was thinking about pulling the engine this winter and rebuilding it for fishing season next season.

Thanks in advance, Phil

You have a Mercruiser 5.0L EFI. The engine is set up for a Bravo drive, but no info on the drive. If you get the SN of the outdrive, I can figure out which one you have.

Re: 1994 Trophy engine question

Guys, thanks for the quick replies, sorry for the lack of info, here is the rest of the info I have. The outdrive serial number is OF30831 (It has an Alpha I sticker on it).
As far as the engine its a mercruiser V8, but as I said earlier I was confussed about what the actual size was. I was looking for a source to get a decent shop manual so that I can do some work on the engine and out drive over the winter.
I know I have an oil leak on the engine right now, and I also have a shift cable leaking seawater into the boat. Boat is on trailer right now but need to run the bilge pump most of the time when using the boat.
Is the engine a 230HP type?? This engine also has wierd fuel injection system (looks like a carb). How do you dianosis engine problems with this type of electronic system??

Re: 1994 Trophy engine question

I had an oil leak on the front of my 1994 5.7 V-8 carb motor. I pulled the motor and replaced the timing cover (front seal was leaking). I believe my motor is rated 235hp but may be 250. If your fuel injection looks like a carb then it is throttle body injection instead of multi point injection. Still better than a carb (I guess)

Not to be mean here, but it seems you don't know much about engines here. You can't tell what the
wierd fuel injection system (looks like a carb
is which happens to be a GM TBI unit that is used in many GM cars, trucks and boats and your'e having a tough time identifying the engine for us. I think you need to rethink your plans of rebuilding that engine.
