Just got this motor with 140 hours on it.I have a Clymer manual for it but it doesn't have any hose diagrams in it. There's a fuel module between the two banks of carbs with a small hose coming from the block to the top of the module. There's is a t-fitting in this hose with one end going to a fitting that sticks straight up out of the top of the module and the other end is just dangling there. When the engine is running there's air pulsing out of the dangling end.Question is does this hose end just fit into the top of the air silencer? Does it attach to the carb or where? And what is that small red lever with an air fitting on the module? Thanks for any help on this.

Hank

Can't help with the routing but what you describe is the primer that is activated when you push the key in to start up. It shoots raw fuel through the hoses into the motor. The red lever is for when the key switch thing dosent work.

The hose fits into the rubber grommet on the upper part of the air silencer. It vents the vapor separator and the lower bearing area.

Make sure when you install the hose that it does not contact the throttle link between the banks of carburetors, as it could make the throttles stick open.

Thanks for the replies.Venting to the air silencer seems to make the most sense.

i think the red "air fitting" with a lever you mention is the port used to decarb/winterize your boat. it's a zirc fitting which introduces the oil into the carbs. can't remember which way the lever should be.

The red knob is for manually priming the engine (replaces solenoid when pushing key in). To use manually, turn red knob counterclockwise, crank for a few seconds, return knob clockwise to start position, and start motor. Only to be used if solenoid does not operate. The shreader(sp?) fitting is to inject fogging oil or decarb directly to intake.
PS I have the exact same motor
