Someone had removed the VRO reservoir and made the engine premix before I purchased the boat. The VRO pump was a leaking mess, so I removed the VRO pump and replaced it with a conventional fuel pump (see image) She now runs great, and goes fast! But even though I pump the fuel bulb until it is hard, she won't start, UNLESS I spray a shot of starting fluid. Then she fires up and runs great and will run for hours. I had the electric primer, and pushing the key in would make her start easily. Any ideas, on how I can get her to start without the starting fluid?

Thank You!!

The electric primer should still be in service as before.----The electric primer is a valve and does the same thing as you spraying a shot of starter fluid in there.----If you bypassed the electric primer you will know what to do with it.

I was hoping someone would say that. I am going to use a "T" connection and run a line to it. THANK YOU Recer One!

The electric primer must receive fuel at pressure from the fuel pump.----The primer bulb on the hose also provides pressure to the electric primer valve.----It does that by pushing fuel right through the fuel pump.

Refrain from using Starting Fluid on a 2 Stroke. It can be a Death Sentence for it.

There is lots of oil on parts when a 2 stroke is stopped.----A shot of starting fluid will not hurt anything!----If you use it excessively then that is a different story.
