I'm interested in this set up in a 19' Bayliner. The head was taken off and resurfaced, yet the guy who did the work said NO signs of overheating. Cylinders were clean, no scoring. He went on to say that the heads were never really straight on this motor from the factory.

Has anyone ever heard that before?

Would this still be considered a good motor with this work done to it?

TY, Dave

Anything is possible from the factory! The combination your reffering to is very reliable I have ran this combo for over 15 years (same year) with minnor issues as well as the ones your describing.

TY! I'm very interested in the boat, it's very clean and structurally sound. It would also be my first I/O and that makes me a little nervous as I've always run outboards.

He said the boat is still winterized from last year, so it hasn't been run this year.

Q: could this be a problem? with rusting or anything like that?

Thx again, dave
