1995 50hp Johnson Idle

My 1995 50 HP Johnson starves for gas in idle. I have to advance the throttle to keep it running. I just got it out of the shop with new plugs and carb repair.

Any suggestions.

If you pump the fuel primer bulb does it pick up??

Yes, if I pump the bulb it runs for a short while.

fuel pump may need a rebuild. Also check for leaks in the fuel line, listen closely for them. Diaphragm in good shape, no crud in the fuel filters.

If pumping the primer bulb at idle speed will allow the engine to keep running there are a few items that could be culprit.Not the least of which is the recent service to the carburetors you mentioned.Did the tech not test run the engine after his service?Carb floats improperly set or defective,failing fuel pump air motor diaphragm ,leaky or dislodged pulse hose between crankcase and fuel pump,etc...
