Hello, all. I have a 1995 Evinrude 9.9 Four Stoke LS on my pontoon and am having problems with the throttle control box alarm going off and the outboard shutting down. This has only happened twice. I have to wait about thirty seconds then it starts right up and will run just fine the rest of the day. While the outboard is in gear the outboard pumps water just fine. The water feels just luke warm and not hot. I feel all around the head of the motor and it doesn't feel hot at all. One thing I did notice is while in neutral, sometimes, the motor will only pump steam out of the tattle tail. Could the alarm be going off because the outboard is overheating? Should I go ahead and have the impeller replaced and/or the thermostat? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
