I have just dis-assembled the carburetor for this engine and have noticed that the high speed
jet is stamped with "094". I operate the motor primarily at altitudes of around 2500-4000 ft above sea level and occasionally around 1000 -
1500 ft, but never at sea level. Is this the correct jet size for my purposes?

Re: 1995 Force 70 HP

Hi Derrick, welcome to iboats.

I also have a '95 70 hp, its been good to me.

The Mercury website lists 5 main jet sizes and their corresponding recommended elevations. They are:

.094 0-1500'
.092 1500-3000'
.090 3000-4500'
.088 4500-6000'
.086 6000-10,000'

You can get the optional jets from a Merc dealer for under $5 each.

You could almost go to the .090 size, but that might make the engine run a little lean at lower elavations. And you don't want a 2 cycle motor to run lean, as it will starve it of lubrication. So I guess I would go with the .092 jet size.

Or order them from here ( an online merc dealer):

http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...089/23.png&inbr=1460&bnbr=13&bdesc=CARBURETOR

I have run mine from 800'- 2000' using the .094 jet

Thanks Roscoe,
I have decided to go with .090, .092, and the existing .094. It only takes about 5 minutes to change these jets, so I decided to cover all of the ranges.
