1995 force 70hp.. where does this hose go?

my grandpa recently past away. he loved boats so when he retired he would buy boats fix them up and sale them. Well the last boat he ever bought to fix only made it 90% when he became to ill to work on it. I was given the boat by im before passing but i unlike him know little about boats. using common sense i have figured out most of how it works. I have one small 1/4 inch hose that comes out of the lower half of the motor that i can't figure out where it goes. Seems like it should be simple but i need help. please help me get the "Bobby Gene" on the water so i can spread grand daddy's ashes on his favorite lake.

sorry no pic... camera not working. the tube comes out 1/4 the way up from bottom of engine on boat side.. its not real long..couldnt reach much further than a couple feet over back of boat. Thx for any help u can and have given

Looks like it may be part of a speedometer system.

Yes, old style speedo tube.

Cut to 6" length, fold it over and zip tie it in place.
