As far as the carbs not opening completely horizontal, my 100hp is the same. It's limited by the second carb throttle linkage which has a metal stop. But that's not your problem.

Did you try Charlie's tip of hitting the enrichner during bog? Or how about having somebody squeeze the primer bulb during bog?

You know, that last 3 inches of throttle is where the timing maxes. What max timing did you set to? Did you check the flywheel cover timing pointer adjustment? If you look at the max timing adjustment there is a little blue plastic bumper sticking out of the other side of the timing arm. About how much is sticking out?

Hey Dave,I did not check the timing pointer adjustment but I will.My book calls for 20 and mine was set at 20.5 My timing maxes out well before max throttle position.Ive got everything buttoned up right now,goin fishing tonight.Ill give everything a look over i the morning. Thanks AL

I thought the max timing for that motor is supposed to be 25' BTDC @cranking. That's what mine is set to and I believe our motors are the same except for carbs.
