Hi

Please forgive my outboard "newness", but i have a prob i need some advice on. I just bought a 1995 nitro with a 115hp merc tracker. I had to take it in for a few other problems, and told the shop that it hesitates slightly and "grumbles" some at around 4000rpm. They didnt feel a thing, but it does it all the time, so i dont know how they missed it. Both my friend and I can hear and feel it. It occurs for about 3 seconds or so about every 15 seconds. The boat does idle poorly once warm as well. I can still get to 52mph, and the hesitation is gone there, but i hate to run top end all the time. I have run a can of sea-foam and new plugs at the marinas recommendation. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
mark

To get dealers to find things, you take them for a ride even if you have to take days off to do it.
Things I'd be looking at are
Fuel venting
compression
plugs (how they look, are they all consistent in color or wet, oily gray)
fuel is it new old.
Carbs clean or gummy/tarnished
Fuel pump diaphram
just a few

Rich
