I hope I'm at the right forum.
I have a 1995 Four Winns Fling that has a OMC 115 Powerhead attached to a Jet Drive. My problem is after starting the engine the low oil beeper goes off. I know it is getting oil because of the smoking and it is not overheating. I tried to replace the switch on the vro unit put it is not sold seperately. I would have to buy the complete unit at about $400.00. Does anyone sell just the switch or is there someplace that has rebuild units? To make matters worse I have not found the model or serial number on the engine. This boat I am tring to restore is for my 13 year old son and I really don't want to have to switch over to pre-mixing.

Re: 1995 omc vro Problems

Oil tanks for VRO with all the elecs are on craigslist and ebay for $25 all day long. Have you checked the wiring with a mketer, the plugs get grunged up and some CRC elec spray cleaner from NAPA might sort it out. If the plug isn't conducting the horn will sound.
I know because I forgot to plug mine in and it was constant until connected.

Yes I checked and clean the plug. All the connections are good. I believe it has to be the switch on the front of the VRO unit or the VRO itself. Some one suggested I short out the wire for the oil. Any other suggestions???
Thanks for getting back to me jonesg
