Forget about the sensor as stated before it will not shut your engine off if it get hot, it will put the engine into s.l.o.w and sound the warning if everything is functioning propperly. (the white black wires are for quick start and again will not shut the engine down). when the engines dies will it instantly turn over again and turn over fast? If so you can just about eliminate the engine overheatiing and running without oil. A engine needs 3 tings to run. Compression -fuel -igniton. If you have compression and spark, it has to be fuel. You indicate that a shop wants $100.00 per hour to look at it. An hour in the shop can get a lot of answers, how many hours do you have in it now?

Kind of hard to take when people don't read the opening question?

"I have a 1996 Evinrude 70 HP Molel No. E70TLEDA S/N G 03953494 that will start right up and run for 35 min. and stops and will not start up for 30 min.? I have serviced the lower unit and it is pumping water grate. It does the same thing every time I take it out 4 or 5 times? Can any one help?"

Yes it will turn over fast but will not hit at all until about 30 min. I am going to go out today and check the gas by disconnecting the gas line from the motor. When I have done this befour when everthing is running ok, gas will come out for a sec. or 2 from the pressure. Do you think it would run OK for 40 min. and cut off and turn over fast if it was compression? As for how many hr. when I had the low unit serviced it was about $300 and that was when I found out they charge $100 an hr. I live in a small town and the boat del. is on the lake I live on so I think they charge more because we have to go out of town for other service. I called over to the next town and they get $85 an hr. It looks like I am going to have to take it back in. Just thought it would be something I could fix.
