I bought this 1996 bayliner capri 1700 knowing it was a little soft around the ski storage hole in the middle of the boat. I got a pretty good deal on this boat because of that of course and the blue stripe on the side was faded. So I just removed the oxidation and shined up the gelcoat and now its time for the floor.
It seems like there is just one piece in between the right and left seat base with the hole in the middle. I have kinda just broke the dead wood on the left side but that epoxy stuff is hard to get off. Are there any suggestions on the best way to complete this project? All other places seem hard so this is the only soft spot on the boat. I appreciate any input you may have. Also, is it wise to connect new carpet to old? I really dont want to re carpet the whole thing. Man, this project is bigger than I thought. If this doesnt work out do you know how much something like this would cost if a professional did it??? thanks guys....mike
