Hey guys i have a 1996 merc that wont start and i did some self testing and drew up a diagram of my voltage findings( the drawing is attached). the black/yellow wire that runs to the kill switch circut has 10v. when i turn the kill switches off it has no voltage( I am assuming that means proper function of the switches?). anyhow I am suspecting the switch box is bad. take a look at the attachment and see if yall can figure this one out. thanks!!!

First you should never have any voltage on the black/yellow wire to the box here's a system test for your engine.

Question: on my box it says 339-7452 not 332-7452. Do they function the same? I went ahead and did the tests as they said and disconnecting the kill switch circut didn't give me spark. the blk/yell to gnd gave me 8 volts and all of the other voltage tests were 0. I honestly dont know how to do the oem and cdi tests. Im assuming this takes an ohmmeter?

That's a misprint in the troubleshooting guide from CDI. not many people even notice. It 's the right test.

Im still not getting anything close to these readings on any of the wires. I guess ill fiddle with the thing for a little longer and if I can't get her to act right ill have to brave the local boat repair shop $$. Thanks for the info Laddies.
