1996 Johnson 90 Piston edge melt

All,<br /><br /> My number 3 piston shows signs of being over heated with the edge of the piston being melted. The compression test on that cyclinder is 90 lbs all the others are 130 LBS.<br /><br /> Is this a possible lean condition in this cylinder. I'd like to correct the problem before I just though anouther piston in.<br /><br /> Help before I throw good money after bad,<br /><br /> Tom

More info please!<br /><br />What spark plugs? What fuel, oil? What top rpm? What water pressure? Carbs clean? Been sitting (in storage)?<br /><br />Good luck!

Oh, and is it a crossflow or 60 degree looper? The model number will tell in case you dont know.<br /><br />Let us know!

Sorry it took so long for me to respond<br /><br /> ,#1stock champion plugs,#2fuel mixture was 50/1 using evernrude Jognson oil #Engine wasa never in storage corect? #4cross flow motor #5water pressure N/A, <br /><br /> Does this help
