Trying to help out my brother-in-law. would appreciate input. My ocean pro has "quick start" where timing is advanced for cold starting. I thought a Merc of similar year would have same or similar feature. To start this one cold requires priming with key and advancing throttle lever position and it starts fine. Another more frustrating issue is semi-warm starts. The motor runs great but, if it is stopped and allowed to cool for an hour or so. It is VERY difficlt to get started again. Using the same cold start technique mentioned above it will start right up but, then die and it takes 15 to 30 minutes of attempts and waiting periods to get it to start again. I went out on it over the weekend thinking it MUST be operator error but it behaved as described for me as well. Thoughts?
