hello,
i just purchased a 1802 trophy from jacksonville, fla. with a 1996 mercury 150 offshore powering it. when i inspected it prior to purchase there was a cooling water stream running out the rear of the motor when running as it should be. (good flowing stream too)i switched plugs when i got it home to ohio, fired it up & noticed no cooling water stream. i flushed the motor 3X's tried to get a stream 3X's nothing. my question is there a thermostat that is restricting the flow? it was 83 degrees when i looked the boat over. its 45 here today. any replys would be very thankful. hate to think i bought a money pit....

Welcome to iboats. :)

They only **** when the thermostats open. How are you supposed to know if the pump is pumping when you turn start a cold motor? It has to be warm before it'll pee. Bright Engineerng, eh? You can drill a tiny hole in each thermostat to allow a little pee water to get by.

I'm sure the temp difference is the key to your conundrum. A 40 degree difference in ambient temperature is going to cause the motor to take longer to warm up. If you have a temperature and pressure gauge, keep an eye on them as you let the engine warm up. If the t-stats are working, they will eventually open up as the powerhead reaches operating temp.
