1997 15hp Yamaha Float Problem

Yamaha Engine # 15MSHV<br />Interesting float problem--Engine stopped after running great and would not restart. Proceeded to disassemble and clean Carb and found that the float was holding the needle in a closed position not allowing gas to flow. Since there is no float level adjustment I placed a couple layers of tinfoil under the float pivot pin to allow float to move up and down.This worked for a while but then ceased to work again. Tried the same remedy without success. Appears to be a design flaw but it did work great for several years. If the pin is not lifted the float arm interfers with the casting and holds the needle shut.The single screw holding the pin down tends to tilt the pin and make matters worse.
